Tender Notice for the Supply of Battery Energy Storage Systems
Engie Renováveis Portugal, S.A , as an affiliated company of ENGIE, legal person no. 517 219 590, with registered office at Porto Office Park, Edifício A, Piso 2, Avenida Sidónio Pais, 153 4100-467 Porto, hereby announces the launch of a tender process for the construction and installation of the Balance of System of two battery energy storage systems, each with a capacity of 10 MW / 20 MWh, to be installed in projects located in Portugal.
ENGIE Renováveis is actively positioning itself as a leader in energy flexibility through the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and hybrid renewable solutions. This strategy is tightly aligned with ENGIE’s global ambition to integrate renewables with flexible, dispatchable assets. ENGIE’s participation in Portugal’s Environmental Fund subsidy program is a key enabler of this strategy. This ambitious program offers funding to projects able to operate for a minimum of two hours, and co-located with renewable plants.
ENGIE has been granted with incentives for two of its projects – Serra do Ralo and Mourisca BESS projects each of 10MW / 2hrsstorage –, financed under Call for Tenders no. 01/C21-i08/2024 (RP-C21-i08 – Network Flexibility and Storage), as part of Component C21 – REPowerEU of the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan.
By means of this tender ENGIE wants to contract with one supplier, setting out the terms and conditions, including prices, under which the Balance of System General Contractor will be selected.

This Tender Programme is merely a call for tender, not a proposal, and does not in any way obligate the Client to conclude a contract, nor bind the Client to enter into a business relationship of any kind, with any Bidder.
All subsequent phases of the tender procedure shall be conducted exclusively through the SAP ARIBA platform, where all relevant information, documentation, and tools necessary for the proper participation in the tender shall be made available.
