Our Flexible Production
Tejo Energia
Tejo Energia is owned by Engie (56.25%) and Endesa Generación (43.75%).
It owns the Pego Electricity Production Center, where the former coal-fired power plant is located. This plant, now being dismantled, operated for 27 years and played a fundamental role in providing reliable energy to the national grid.
As environmental and safety are major concerns for Tejo Energia, it was one of the first coal-fired plants in the Iberian Peninsula to install a desulfurization and denitrification system, which enabled a significant reduction in SO2 and NOx emissions. Locally, it also played a significant role in economic development and in the area of Social Responsibility. It currently manages the sharing of resources between the Thermoelectric Power Plant and the Combined Natural Gas Cycle, being responsible for providing these services throughout the operational life of Elecgas.
